Course Description

        SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) courses equip participants with the knowledge and skills to lead and implement Agile practices at an enterprise level. These courses, such as Leading SAFe 6.0, focus on building Agile teams, coordinating multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs), and aligning strategy with execution. Participants learn to apply Lean-Agile principles, optimize product development flow, and facilitate enterprise-wide transformations. The curriculum includes topics like Agile development, DevOps, Lean product development, and SAFe's core competencies. 

Course Outline For SAFe

1. Leading SAFe (SAFe Agilist Certification)

This foundational course introduces the core concepts of SAFe and its underlying Lean-Agile principles. 

Key topics typically include:

  • Thriving in the Digital Age with Business Agility.
  • Building a Foundation with Mindset, Values, and Principles, such as Lean-Agile Mindset, SAFe Core Values, and SAFe Principles.
  • Establishing Team and Technical Agility, including organizing Agile Release Trains (ARTs) around the flow of value.
  • Building Solutions with Agile Product Delivery, covering Customer Centricity and Design Thinking.
  • Exploring Lean Portfolio Management, defining and managing the SAFe portfolio, connecting it to enterprise strategy, and establishing Lean budgets and guardrails.
  • Leading the Change.
  • Practicing SAFe
  • Executing Program Increment (PI) Planning, including creating and reviewing draft plans, finalizing plans, and committing to PI objectives.
  • Continuously delivering value with Agile Release Trains (ARTs), continuously exploring customer needs, and developing the Vision, Roadmap, and Program Backlog.
  • Prioritizing the Program Backlog for optimal return on investment (ROI). 

2. SAFe Scrum Master (SSM Certification)

This course focuses on the role of the Scrum Master within a SAFe enterprise. 

Key topics typically include:

  • Understanding Scrum in a SAFe enterprise.
  • Facilitating Scrum events and Iteration Execution.
  • Supporting Program Increment Execution and relentless improvement.
  • Coaching Agile teams and supporting DevOps implementation. 

3. SAFe product owner/product manager (POPM) certification

This course covers the roles and responsibilities of Product Owners and Product Managers within a SAFe environment. 

Key topics typically include:

  • Exploring the Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) roles and responsibilities.
  • Preparing for and leading PI Planning.
  • Executing Iterations and the PI.
  • Practicing SAFe. 

4. SAFe DevOps certification

This course focuses on applying DevOps principles and practices within the SAFe framework. 

Key topics typically include:

  • Designing and implementing a SAFe DevOps transformation plan.
  • Integrating Continuous Testing and Security.
  • Utilizing tools like the DevOps Health Radar and Transformation Canvas. 

5. Other specialized courses

SAFe also offers specialized courses such as SAFe Agile Software Engineering, SAFe Architect, SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Lean Portfolio Manager, and SAFe Government Practitioner.
