Course Outline For Azure Database Administrator Associate

1. Plan and implement data platform resources

                This module focuses on deploying various Azure SQL offerings and configuring them for scale and performance. It also covers evaluating and implementing database migration strategies to Azure, including validation and troubleshooting. 

2. Implement a secure environment

                 This section covers configuring authentication and authorization using Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, implementing security for data at rest and in transit (like TDE and Always Encrypted), and implementing compliance controls such as auditing and data masking. 

3. Monitor, configure, and optimize database resources

                  This module focuses on establishing performance baselines, monitoring resource activity and query performance using various tools, and configuring database solutions for optimal performance through tasks like index maintenance and automatic tuning. 

4. Configure and manage automation of tasks

                   This module covers creating and managing SQL Server Agent jobs, automating deployments using tools like ARM and Bicep templates, and configuring other database tasks using automation. 

5. Plan and configure a high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) environment

                   This section focuses on recommending HA/DR strategies based on requirements, implementing backup and restore procedures, and configuring HA/DR solutions such as active geo-replication and Always On availability groups.
