           Associate Cloud Engineers deploy applications, monitor operations, and manage enterprise solutions. They use Google Cloud Console and the command-line interface to perform common platform-based tasks to maintain one or more deployed solutions that leverage Google-managed or self-managed services on Google Cloud.

Core course content

  • Setting up a Cloud Solution Environment: This section covers creating and configuring cloud projects, managing billing, setting up alerts, installing and configuring the Cloud SDK (command-line interface), and enabling APIs within projects.
  • Planning and Configuring a Cloud Solution: Topics include estimating GCP product use, planning and configuring compute resources (like Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions), data storage options (Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Bigtable), and network resources (VPC networks, load balancing, Cloud DNS).
  • Deploying and Implementing a Cloud Solution: You'll learn to deploy and implement resources like Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions. Also covered are deploying data solutions and networking resources, using Cloud Marketplace, and deploying application infrastructure using Cloud Deployment Manager.
  • Ensuring Successful Operation of a Cloud Solution: This involves managing Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, App Engine, and Cloud Run resources, It also includes managing storage and database solutions, network resources, and using Cloud Monitoring and Logging.
  • Configuring Access and Security: This part focuses on managing IAM (Identity and Access Management), including viewing and creating IAM policies, defining custom roles, managing service accounts, and reviewing audit logs. 

Hands-on experience

              Most courses emphasize practical skills, enabling you to work on real-world projects and scenarios through hands-on labs. You'll gain experience with various Google Cloud services like Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and more. 

Prerequisites

              While there are no formal prerequisites to take the Associate Cloud Engineer exam, it's recommended to have at least six months of hands-on experience with GCP and a basic understanding of IT concepts like virtual machines, IP networking, and web servers,
