1. Migrating SAP workloads to Azure

  • Understanding existing SAP landscapes and technical dependencies.
  • Developing migration strategies and selecting appropriate tools.
  • Exploring database migration options (DMO) and cloud migration strategies.
  • Migrating very large databases (VLDB) to Azure. 

2. Designing and implementing Azure infrastructure for SAP workloads

  • Designing core infrastructure solutions (compute, storage, networking) to support SAP workloads.
  • Implementing and managing virtual networking for SAP applications.
  • Configuring and deploying virtual machines, including SAP-certified VMs and custom images.
  • Automating deployment with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Bicep and ARM templates, the SAP Deployment Automation Framework and Azure Center for SAP solutions.
  • Designing and implementing storage solutions, including data protection, caching, and encryption. 

3. High availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) for SAP on Azure

           This section covers designing and implementing HA/DR solutions, including deploying workloads into availability sets and zones, implementing load balancing and clustering for SAP HANA and SCS, and designing backup and Azure Site Recovery strategies. 

4. Maintaining SAP workloads on Azure

          This module focuses on optimizing performance and costs using Azure Advisor, monitoring with Azure Monitor and Azure Monitor for SAP solutions, managing backups with Azure Backup, and using Azure Center for SAP solutions and the SAP Landscape Management (LaMa) connector for managing SAP systems. 

5. Exploring SAP HANA on Azure Large Instances (HLI)

         This area introduces HLI foundations, certified offerings, and sample architectures. It also covers planning considerations for HLI deployments, including HA/DR, backup, security, licensing, and support, as well as implementing and managing HLI instances.
